It goes without saying that you are extraordinary at what you do, being an advocate for those of us who can't do it by ourselves. What's unusual is what an amazing woman you are on your own. I said before there just weren't words enough to tell you how thankful I am for all the effort you put in for me and my family. You truly made a huge difference in the ongoing quality of my life and I appreciate it so much. I know that you just keep saying that it's just your job, but you do it with such professionalism, grace, compassion and style.

I know you think I go on too much but I wanted to give you something that would last a long time and have been working on this quilt for a long time so you'd have a one of a kind forever kind of gesture of my appreciation. I only make them for extremely special people in my life. I hope you like it… The fabric on the back is called serenity so I thought it would be apropos with your hard charged life of giving hope to the hopeless and "fighting the good fight." And speaking of giving hope, before I got the idea of making a quilt for you I had decided that a lasting and meaningful token of my appreciation, and something that might mean a lot to you, would be a donation to the Civil Rights Museum in the form of placing a brick with your name on it in the foyer leading up to the museum.

Mine may not have been the biggest case, but it was big to us and you changed our lives, making it easy on me while you did it, and that is no small thing. It's nice to know that there are still such honorable people who do the right thing in this world. I am so proud to have gotten to know you and that you were the one to represent me. I wish you, your family and your firm my very best.

It's so beautiful here, I could just bust! Thanks to you, I feel like I have my soul healing from the sights; deer on the beach in the morning, full moon rising across the bay, and sailboats slipping through the sparkling water. My son captured the deer on his digital camera and I'll get him to send it to me. I will get some of the scenery and the mountain and send them, though.
